Mud Run Family

I had to give you a taste of proper technique for pre-run stretching and baby backpacking. So here it is.

2 months late but worth a viewing

So I did a mud run up at Bogus Basin here in Boise ID and it was so much funnest time I had getting dirty in a long time. Yes, it was a while ago but I feel I had to get it on my blog now, besides up on my Facebook. So it was so much fun to run in the mountains and in nature along side some really good girlfriends. We had to run a lot more up hill than I thought but the anticipation to the next muddy obstacle got me through. It was super muddy and I was squishing in my shoes the whole second half of the way through thanks to the man with the hose. I dove in one of the pools of mud and had a great time seeing Luisa try and get over the walls. The best part was the RootBeer showers at the top of the mountain and making mud handprints on each other's backs. It was just a dirty good time and I was super glad we could be sportin the Halo T's. We were dirty girls and we liked it. Nick was a great help, watching Skye and taking these wonderful pictures. Skye loved every minute that she was awake. Thanks Mark!

Tiny Dancer

So this has to be my favorite dress she has. (Thanks Lissa) She is such a beautiful pixie devil. We had fun with this one and she was just loving the big ball. Our own little spin off of wipeout. haha. She definitely made the qualifier. Her face in the one where you can't see the ball is like a Christmas morning face. She is so freakin adorable, I can't stand it, but I can really. She keeps my heart beating that's for dang sure. Nick had her bouncing on the ball as he drops a beat so she can bust a move and she loves it. She gets her booty shaking, legs pop and locking, and the biggest grin on her face. She is also starting this grown thing where she sounds like a angry puppy. So many things just surprise me and make me smile. This is why people have kids...Thank you Heavenly Father for Skye Huntington Rogers. I can't wait to share her for upcoming visits if everything works out. Love you family!!!!!

She wears her sunglasses at night

So we had a photo shoot and dang she is so funny. I was laughing so hard as she posed for each one. She is not sure about the camera but I found a couple noises she cannot help but smile at and these are the result. Summer is so much fun for baby clothes. Thanks to great taste of otr fams, she is stylin. She doesn't mind the sunglasses either (thanks Misters) Milestones wise: She is starting to recognize strangers so just a warning: don't come at her quick, she likes the slow approach and then she'll give you a smile otherwise she'll cry. It's so cute and her face when she feels people out is so serious. Your chances are 50-50 so just go for it. She is also discovering her voice and we are victims to it as she lets out this ear-piercing scream that she belts out quite often as of a week ago. Its hilarious but loud. Sunday was her debut where she let it out in sacrament a couple times. I was so proud. hahahah. Everyone raves about her hair but now adays she is losing on the sides and the middle top remains full so we are pretty much in training for the mohawk. She's a fashionista already. EAt your heart out Gwen Stefani.... Everyday is a new adventure and i'm glad i have my dancing shoes on.

Haven't seen you in a minute...

So I want to publicly apologize for the disgrace of a blogger I have been these past 3 + months. I have preferred to just post the pictures on Facebook as opposed to putting int he back stories and updating my blog. I sincerely apologize especially to the grandmas out there. Anyhoo, I will be posting a new slideshow and pictures to show how big Skye is getting and explain what a joy she is to our lives. She has hit so many milestones and although she is only in the 15% besides her head in the 30%, she is as healthy as an ox. She can now steamroll us to death and grabs anything in sight. She is starting to get her legs underneath her which is the beginnings of a crawl but she usually ends up rolling over. She loves reaching for her pacifier though. She tries so hard and she gets stronger every day. I'm so proud already. She is sleeping in her crib now and doing great. Sometimes I'll come in and find her sideways or on her belly with her face in the mattress just jabbering and making noises. She is hilarious and I love her so much.

Our little 2 monther Gnome

Here are just a couple of cute pics as Skye reaches 2 months 1 week old. She is so freakin adorable. The pointy hoody was a gift that I was super excited for her to grow into and now she has. She is such a ham and loves the camera wink wink. haha. We love her more every second.

Witte cousins

March 5th, Doug, Brie, Kayla, and Wes were finally able to visit. It was a great visit and everyone was so good with Skye. Kayla and Wes were super gentle with her and loved holding her. Wes was hesitant at first but whenever K had her, he wanted her. He was a natural. We also got a good family picture since the hospital. A good lookin family if I do say so myself. Thanks so much for coming over and introducing us to Ponyo especially right before the Japan Tsunami happened. Too weird, but a coincidentally interesting movie. Love you guys and can't wait for the next visit. Mahalo

Play Date

February 24th was Skye's first play date with a close friend of mine's son Jace. He was born 3 weeks after Skye and weighs 3 lbs more and way longer. They got along great and it was nice to have another adult to interact with. We were able to talk for about 30 minutes before we both had to breast feed. We are such mules. haha. Skye was not in the best of moods the whole time especially b/c she drooled milk on her arm. Ooopsie messy eater. heehee. We positioned Jace and Skye on the couch sitting in the corner to capture their pure joy of being with one another. Although they look like they're standing, they're not quite there yet. Thanks Luisa for a great day of comparing stories and catching up.

Happy Holidays

Two more firsts included Skye's first Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day. She looked so cute both days and she getting so big so fast. She is sporting the heart berret and the Elvis attitude for all the Irish fans. She is so much fun and starting to lift her head on her own. She looks so much older when you can see her neck. Crazy. We're so excited to see her sit up on her own. We Love our little one and good thing because she was our Valentine and is our lucky charm.

Grandma's visit

February was a great month mainly because Grandma Rogers came to save the day. Lissa came up for 9 days of generous assistance to this rookie mother. She was so awesome forcing me to take naps and spoiling little Skye so much that she won't sleep without being held now. haha. We got to introduce Skye to her Bryant cousins, take her first trip to walmart, and get a real bath in her new tub from G-ma. She absolutely loved her Grandma and would sleep for hours on her thanks to her swadling skills. We learned a lot from her and had a great time. We got her hooked on the bachelor, made my awesome potato cheese soup bread bowls, and just relaxed here and there. Nick and I got a couple moments to ourselves to chill which was amazing. Thanks Lissa and a huge shout out to Craig (hence the grandpa onesie) for loaning her to us for so long. You guys are the best.

Skye's First outgrown PJ's

Skye is growing so fast, I can't believe it. She has grown out of 2 preemie PJ outfits and this is one of them. She couldn't really straighten one leg and Nick and me were just laughing while she tried to help me hear how uncomfortable it was. She is getting taller, chunkier, and cuter ever second and we love it.

My sweet girl

Here are a couple pictures during her second week of life. She is so adorable, I will probably just be adding pictures of her outfits and her crazy poses with no particular blog worthy story. The stink bug, raise the roof, and leg crossed sleepy head are my faves featured here. Hope you don't get annoyed, but I love her so much and I'm so excited to tell people and show how fast she is growing. The last picture is when Paige and Rebecca came over to visit and Paige was so sweet with her. She didn't want to hold her at first but couldn't resist by the end. I think she liked her cousin.

Week 1 continued

Skye has already changed so much from these pictures but I thought I would document the most annoying thing we had to put up with. Skye had to wear this glowing bilirubin light up her back for the first couple days which made her look like a glow worm. It was such a hassle but it helped get rid of the jaundice she had. I guess it was worth it.

Skye's first bath

So our first bath experience wasn't what we were hoping. She peed and pooped right when I took her diaper and all over her towel that we were going to use to dry her off. The washing was fine but man, you learn a lot day by day, by day, by day.... The second bathing experience was much better after consulting those more experienced resources we have to our desposal. Thanks Bec! Shout out to Rebecca who has been a life saver beyond anything we could've hoped for. She was there every minute at the hospital and hooked us up with sustenance, words of encouragement, and a much needed extra pair of hands. Thanks so much. Lissa would be proud. Anyway, the bath went a lot smoother after we communicated with each other and went into with a strategy. I held her while Nick poured and washed. Skye liked most of it and it was crazy to wash that head of hair. She certainly has a unique head of hair, which I wasn't expecting to see but its way cute and so soft. We can't wait until the next new adventure that parenthood brings.
