Winter WHAT?

I bought my first snow shovel the other day and got started right away. The driveway was covered in a few inches of snow and I couldn't pass up this opportunity to pronounce my love yet again. Too much fun! Glad it melted thanks to the rain. It only took 1 1/2 week. This wether takes some getting used to. I think I'll need a couple more years. All I can hope for is the light at the end of the winter leading me into spring and then my favorite: SUMMER. Oh and we got our tree finally. We got it on the corner in town for $20 and I guess you get what you pay for. We put it up and if you touch it at all, all the needles fall off, hence the vacuum in the shot. Its a dry one to say the least but it sure looks good from a distance. Can I get a what what??? Anyway, Can't wait for Christmas. From Nick and me, we wish all ya'alls thee best holidays!

Turkey Bowl 2009

This year was the biggest and most fun Turkey bowl in a long time. Wish Josh and Jonathan in town, I knew it would be fun but dang. Nick grew out his football stache in tribute to Craig coming up which was very nice of him I thought. They look so alike when the facial hair comes into play. Too funny... Craig didn't play but he kept Krista talking and they cheered us on and took some video which was way cool, especially b/c their little toes were freezing. It was a perfect day and the teams were pretty even for the 40 people that showed up. As soon as we got there, Elder Guerrero met Josh with a huge brotherly hug. He had a weird saggy beany on his head so when he came over to us, I thought to myself, "whose this tool?" Not that I use that word, but it just says it all. Once I realized it was Travis, I was like, ok it makes sense now. We started playing right away and I took on the QB role as you'll see in the blue sweatshirt and perfect form. It was going great until I jammed my thumb on some little kids hard-as-a-rock hip bone then I couldn't grip the ball at all. I took the defensive route the rest of the time and we all had a blast. I was guarding Nick once he came to our field and I stuck him good. I know all his moves, What? Football people... Anyway, it was so much fun and 2 1/2 hours later, it was over and time to clean up for a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner that Lissa and Rebecca owned. It was so good and it was so nice to have most of the family come to us before the snow came today (Dec 7). Definitely, a holiday worth mentioning in the journal. We missed you Melissa and Jamie. Next time for sure. Nick and I have a lot to be thankful for, thats for sure.

My Best Friends Wedding

This wedding was definitely not like the movie though. I wanted this wedding to happen with all my heart. My best friend, Misti, got married November 20th. I went down to Arizona a couple days early to prep her for the big day and scare her a little. heehee. I think I did my best to ease the tension. As Chubbs would put it, "just easin the tension baby." We hung out and I got to see their apartment. It was weird to see where the future magic would happen. What? Anyhoo, the day before the wedding Boyd's family put on a yummy dinner and program with traditional dances of their ancestors and its was so weird seeing Boyd yell and smack himself but Misti said she was used to it whatever that mean? His family was so nice and their Australian, New Zealand, and Hawaiian accents were so awesome. I got 2 hugs from his grandma, which I'm proud of for some reason. So Misti's whole family was there celebrating the union of 2 very different cultures that will mesh so well, I know it. She cried a little, but only because Dave got up and did the running man. j/k he gave a very heart-felt speech and my face almost leaked but I held it together. The wedding went so good and Misti looked beautiful. I got to lace up the back of her dress with Lani and the rest is history. She looked the most beautiful I had ever seen here even though her face screwed it up. Totally kidding (goonies shout out). She looked awesome and the sealing went good. I was nervous for her but Jake was making jokes the whole time so it was fine. I just want to say that I am glad I was able to go and now my best friend can make dirty jokes with me now that she's married. That's all I've been waiting for. ;) The reception was awesome especially the dancing and the chocolate balls that monte and shannon made. So tasty I saved some for later. I wished it would never end but I missed my eternal companion so I hurried home the day after even though I didn't call him all day Friday, sorry honey.

Erin the Head

So to start November off right, my sister came to visit. Mom, Tasha, and Erin drove up to meet me in the middle in Pocatello Idaho at Doug and Brie's. Unfortunately Doug was gone for the weekend so it was a girls weekend except for big man Wesley. It was so much fun to have the girls together with late night talks and Brie's awesome cooking. I especially enjoyed the homemade mitten making and hannah montanna mall madness. Games are a guarantee when your in that Witte house but I'm not complaining. It was the best hearing the rules that Kayla and Wes make up as we play. Seeing them grow up and become so independent is a great thing to be apart of. I think the best part of the whole weekend was just going for a late night cranberry juice run with Erin and hitting up TJ Maxx just her and me. It was like old times and I miss having her so close. We found some good deals and relief if you know what I mean Erin. ;) This was a weekend I will never forget and it makes me appreciate the great family I have. In the words of a wise woman I know and love, "Thank you Heavenly Father." (LR)

Halloween Stone

So Halloween was great and I had to post the pictures of my most accomplished pumpkin carving year to date. It was inspired and even though it took a little bit, I was impressed with my work. Nick didn't think I could do it but I made it happen. It was a fun and the happiest Halloween ever...

Our Fall Harvest

So this was before Halloween but we were stoked about actually having edible fruit, literally, on our doorstep. The house we are renting has a apple and peach tree in the front. So as it ripened we got to pick them and it was quite the adventure. The peaches were way good. I even made a peach dump cake and the one apple that didn't have worm holes in it, was delicious. If we are still in this house next fall, we will try a little harder to pick them on time because we had no clue. Maybe an apple pie really from scratch.... We had so many peaches we had to give a lot of them away. That was pretty fun and the neighbors were thankful. No canning this time, but maybe next time, NOT. I won't conform. j/k. We'll see what happens but we are all out at the current moment so store bought canned peaches will work for me through the winter.

Trick or Treat: 2009

So this Halloween has to be the best one we have had in a real long time. We dressed up, which we haven't done since high school, and had Doug, Brie, Kayla, and Wes grace us with their presence. It was so much fun. We played a Halloween bowl that morning, a preview to the Turkey bowl soon to come. It was way fun and it was perfect weather. We had a black taco lunch at Taco Bell then to the trunk or treat we went. It was at 5pm so it was still light out and I liked that. Kayla and Wes helped us pass out candy for the first part of it and they looked so cute in their costumes. Kayla was a geisha and Wes was a ninja with a killer fu man chu goatie. When Doug and Brie got there, we took the 2 cuties around and they were so excited when they got more then 1 piece or gum. To my surprise it was so much more fun watching them get candy rather than being the one trick or treating. I loved it and I don't think there was a second I wasn't smiling. I was doing my Gilly dance the whole way, while Nick (or should I say Ron) was going around interviewing people and telling them to "stay classy" I did get the occasional Annie mistaken identity but I corrected them right away. Annie doesn't have a brown afro. HELLO PEOPLE!!! So after the trunk or treat, we took them around the neighborhood a little bit and they were the cutest on the block, just like their parents who were the cutest asian elderly couple I have seen, in Idaho. Haha. I couldn't have asked for a better Halloween than this.

4th Anniversary

So our anniversary was on Sept 2nd and I didn't want to get Nick a card so I decided to be a little more creative and get him something more tasty. I called up the local pizza place in town and they were all for my heart-shaped pizza idea. I was way excited for Nick to see it and he was even more excited to eat it. It was a big hit and I was pretty proud of myself. Anyway, for the evening, we had the usual plans for dinner but then we got the invite from our neighbors to go to the lake and work on our wakesurfing skills. We did not hesistate and we hit the lake around 5pm. It was good stuff, especially because we both were able to get up many times without the rope as our security blanket. I'm still refining my carving skills but as you'll see in the video, Nick is killin it. So, that was our day. Nothing says I love you more than Pizza and wakesurfing.

New furniture Pictures

So we got it a while ago, but here are the pictures of the new furniture. We got a sweet deal on the couch and ottoman, that is (as my mom said) "as big as the house." Anyway it is so cumfy and good for sleeping if you pull it next to the couch. We got a plethora of pillows so we have pillow fights all the time. Nick usually wins with the low blows. He's a cheater. Anyway, our dining table is black with some vintage tints here and there. It is very nice and its nice to eat on a flat surface that doesn't have carpet like the floor. We love it though. Oh, the martinelli's picture is the celebration of our selling of the california house. We wanted to do a little something for it, even if it was so anticlimatic and overrated after the drawn out mess (1 1/2 years). We are grateful its done though, besides the conditional note we got thrown at us. Everything else in Idaho is great, just hoping to get a job soon, because the districts are keeping secrets and secrets don't make friends. I'll have to start getting nosey i guess. Wish me luck. Nick's work is going really good, he is very busy all the time and living 2 minutes from the warehouse, has been nice because I get to see him on his lunch hour when he comes home. Even though its quick, every chance I get to see him makes me scream for joy inside. He is my everything and I wuv him so much. Just want to make sure everyone knows that. I guess I am extra mushy about it because our 4th anniversary is this wednesday Sept. 2nd so mark it on your calendars. Who would have thought we would last 6 months right? LOL

Chubbuck Sunday

On the way home from Provo, Sunday morning we decided to stop by Doug and Brie's. It was on the way, so why not. I guess Wes didn't know and when we rang the door bell, Kayla tried to trick him. She said "maybe its Jon." He opened it and he yelled "yay!" Me too and he didn't leave me side for the first 5 minutes. He was acting silly the whole time, especially during "War" He was singing some random song and we were all just staring in confusion at what he was doing. He is hilarious just like his dad. He made this crazy face then doug tried to imitate it. Not bad. Doug and Brie fed us for lunch and then we played some games ending up with the what else? The Wii. I love that thing and I miss them already. Definitely glad they made it back from Yellowstone safe. Thanks for a great Sabbath guys!!!

Provo Pals

We decided, last minute for Aug 15th, to go to Provo to congratulate Ben on his graduation from BYU. We called Friday afternoon and got there at 12:30am that night. Yes, we love him that much. So Saturday we hung out and just savored the moment because we wont' see Craig, Lissa, Ben, or Jamie for a real long time after this, since they are moving. Kaylee especially enjoyed the visit. She was Nick's shadow the whole time. She is twitterpated even after all these years. It is too cute. We had a lot of fun visiting with Nick's Uncle Jon and CathrynAnn on Saturday. They are . The boys all took a picture together to represent for the Rogers crew. I just noticed that Craig and Jon have matching pocket protectors. J/k nerds. They have the same glasses holder clippy thing. Too funny. So anyway, Danny kept things serious while he hung out. He is so crazy and normal, all at the same time, which we are very grateful for. It was a great visit, especially the aroma in the condo during Willy Wonka. What????

Otter Potter Slushy

So Nick had this creative idea to make a otter pop slushy blueberry flavored. I busted out about 15 blue otter pops and poured them all in the blender. Being rock hard, they did not blend so well at first, but they looked pretty, like a ice planet creation. Anyway, we waited for it to melt and it turned out just right (no thanks to me though). It was quite tasty and we highly recommend it. Sweet and chilled to perfection.
